What is an eating disorder?

An eating disorder is a mental health disorder defined by abnormal eating behaviours that negatively affect a person’s physical or mental health. 

 

Types of eating disorders include binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa.

Get help!

If you fear that you or a friend has an eating disorder it is important to speak to a trusted adult and your GP.  Your GP is there to help you.

You need help and support. You cannot deal with this alone. No-one can.

SupportED is an eating disorder project in Scotland. They are typically for adults but would offer help and signposting for anyone younger.
